Bishops Guest House Eshowe is a magnificent colonial home built in 1891 for the Bishop of Zululand. It has recently been refurbished, keeping the original architecture but with modern finishes, and offers Seven generous comfortable en-suite rooms. Eshowe is situated around the lush Dlinza Forest in the rolling hills of Zululand, and is close to the capitals of the old Zulu Kingdoms.


The town boasts a wealth of fauna, flora and bird life unequalled in Southern Africa. The 250 hectare indigenous coastal scarp forest (Dlinza Forest) is home to more than 90 species of birds, 85 species of butterflies, and 130 different tree species.

This is surrounded by endless views of natural landscape, sugar plantations and orchards.


Eshowe is the ideal base to discover the Zululand Birding Route, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park at Saint Lucia, the game reserves of Northern Zululand and the Battlefields of the Anglo-Zulu war.
